DonoLink is a European donation platform for streamers, available in Finland for creators on Twitch, YouTube, Kick and TikTok LIVE. Finnish viewers can donate with MobilePay, a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and you are paid out in euro to your own Finnish bank account. DonoLink takes 3.5% per successful donation and charges no subscription.
Finland is one of the two countries where MobilePay is part of everyday life, next to Denmark. Plenty of Finns use it to split a bill, pay for a ticket to a LAN party or send a few euros to a friend. A donation to a streamer they like is exactly that kind of small, quick payment.
On DonoLink, a viewer on a phone taps MobilePay, approves in the app and returns to your page. On a computer, they enter the phone number linked to MobilePay and confirm the push notification. Because MobilePay works with the cards stored in the app, the donor doesn't type any card details on your page.
This page is in English, and so is the DonoLink.eu dashboard. Your Finnish donors simply see amounts in euro and familiar ways to pay.
MobilePay is switched on by default for creators in Finland. It appears for donors as soon as Stripe has activated it on your account, so you can offer it, but Stripe decides when. Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are always there. Because Finland uses the euro, you can also enable other euro methods that Stripe supports, for example Revolut Pay, up to six methods per page. PayPal is coming soon.
Finland is the Nordic country that uses the euro, which keeps things simple. Donations are charged in euro and paid out in euro to your Finnish bank account through Stripe Connect, so there is no conversion step between your viewer and you. Viewers in Sweden or Norway can donate by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and their own bank converts from kronor.
DonoLink takes 3.5% of each successful donation. Stripe charges its own processing costs to your account separately, and they differ per method; for MobilePay, Stripe lists an extra MobilePay processing fee, so have a look at Stripe's pricing. If a donor wants to, they can cover the DonoLink fee so you receive the full amount. Refunds, disputes and chargebacks run through Stripe on your own account.
Finland has two official languages, Finnish and Swedish, and many streamers add English on top. Finnish streams often have smaller but very loyal chats where regulars know each other by name. That's the kind of community where a goal bar works well: a new chair, a charity stream, a trip to an event. DonoLink lets you add one in OBS next to your donation alerts, a leaderboard of top supporters and a recent donations list.
Alerts can also react to follows, subs, raids and cheers from Twitch, Kick and YouTube. Linky, the DonoLink chatbot, can share your donation link in chat, so you don't have to type it out between games.
Streamlabs and StreamElements offer complete toolkits with tipping; before choosing, check whether Finnish viewers can use MobilePay there. Ko-fi works for memberships and shops and pays out through PayPal or Stripe. A PayPal.me link is simple to share but doesn't trigger alerts. DonoLink focuses on donations with MobilePay, euro payouts, a flat 3.5% fee and overlays in one package.
Donations can be taxable income. The Finnish Tax Administration, Vero Skatt, has information for people who earn money online on vero.fi, or you can ask an accountant. Your DonoLink dashboard keeps a clear list of donations and payouts that you can use for your tax return.
