How to donate during a YouTube live stream

Find the donation link published by the creator in the live stream description or a chat message. Check the profile on the page that opens, choose an amount and an optional message, then pay using an available method. You do not need to create a DonoLink account to donate.

On a phone, open the link in your browser and wait for confirmation. If no link is offered, ask the creator how to support them. Super Chat is a YouTube feature subject to its eligibility rules; a donation through an external link is a separate payment and does not automatically become a Super Chat message.

Super Chat or donation link?

Super Chats stay within YouTube, with its eligibility rules and revenue share. A DonoLink donation is paid on your connected Stripe account, with a 3.5% DonoLink fee. Many creators offer both.

Where to place your link

On YouTube your link can appear in several places:

At the top of every live stream description.
In a pinned live chat message.
In your channel links.
As a QR code in your scene.

Alerts and overlays

Add the DonoLink alerts browser source in OBS. Each donation appears in your style, and a donation goal shows progress throughout the stream. Viewers pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and local methods per country (e.g. BLIK in Poland, Satispay in Italy, Swish in Sweden). Local methods appear once Stripe has activated them for your account.

Tips for receiving more donations live

Thank every donor out loud and leave the alert on screen for a few seconds. Show a concrete goal, such as a new microphone or a special stream, and mention it at the high points rather than constantly. Offer suggested amounts that suit your audience and use the same link in every description so viewers recognise it.

Can I donate on YouTube live from mobile?

Yes, if the creator shares an available donation page. Open their link in your phone's browser, check the profile, choose an amount and pay with an offered method. A DonoLink donation is separate from Super Chat. Wait for confirmation before repeating the payment.

Do I need to be monetised to receive donations?

A DonoLink link is independent of the YouTube Partner Programme. The creator must meet DonoLink's eligibility requirements, complete Stripe checks and have payments enabled. Share the link only where your channel is allowed to show external links.

What does a donation cost?

DonoLink charges 3.5% per successful donation. Stripe separately charges its fees to the creator's account.

Do donations appear in my stream?

Yes, through the DonoLink alerts browser source in OBS or Streamlabs Desktop.

When does the money reach my bank account?

Stripe pays out according to your connected account's payout schedule, after any required checks.
